The Detox Project and the GoChain Foundation (GoChain), the developer of the GoChain blockchain protocol, today announced the signing of a Node Operating Agreement whereas The Detox Project is now operating a signing node in support of the global GoChain blockchain network.
As a signing node, The Detox Project will be one of a maximum of fifty (50) highly reputable enterprises and organizations to run specialized servers that facilitate GoChain’s novel Proof of Reputation (PoR) consensus algorithm and to validate the blocks of transactions produced on the GoChain blockchain network. The Detox Project joins other world-class organizations and entities as node signers on the GoChain network including Penn State University, Lenovo, Dish, Goldbell, the University of Nicosia, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. Most recently, GoChain announced the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and the National Livestock Producers Association as the latest node signers to join the GoChain blockchain network.
The Detox Project is a research and certification platform that encourages transparency in the food and supplement industries on the subject of toxic chemicals. Involved in a number of groundbreaking studies over the last few years particularly on the world’s most used herbicide, glyphosate, The Detox Project also develops and promotes novel testing technologies to determine the level of toxic chemicals found in our food and in our own bodies accurately and affordably. The Detox Project currently works with hundreds of food and supplement brands, ranging from manufacturers of cereals, avocado oil, baby formula, clean supplements, rice, oat & nut milks, dates, honey, wine to hemp oil and CBD products.
The Detox Project currently oversees one of the fastest growing certifications globally: Glyphosate Residue Free certification. Glyphosate is the most used pesticide in the world and has the highest public profile of any chemical used in food production. Both consumers and regulators across the globe are increasingly requiring transparency in supply chains and accountability on any claims made, i.e. organic, non-GMO, contaminant free, etc., on fruits, vegetables, supplements, and other food and consumer products.
In addition to novel certification and testing approaches, The Detox Project is also actively exploring the use of blockchain technology. As part of becoming a new node, The Detox Project plans to collaborate with GoChain and the blockchain sustainability and supply chain leader Chainparency to pursue blockchain-related solutions ranging from the issuance of NFT certifications and traceability of supply chains related to contaminants to QR code-based retail market solutions focused on providing retail consumers with unparalleled transparency on consumer goods and food products.
“We are proud to become an integral part of the fastest, most sustainable, web3 compatible blockchain in the world. The Detox Project has become a leader in food and supplement transparency globally and we now aim to use blockchain to give consumers the right to know what contaminants are in their food in a fully traceable and transparent way. ” — Henry Rowlands, Director, The Detox Project
“As one of the fastest growing certifications globally, The Detox Project is a welcome addition to the GoChain blockchain network. We look forward to working with the Detox Project to support its certification programs and efforts to utilize blockchain technology to bring additional assurance that select consumer food and supplement products are free from chemicals and contaminants.” — Henry Ines, Steering Committee Member, GoChain Foundation
